The Blackphone is a privacy built smartphone developed by SGP Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Silent Circle. SGP Technologies was originally a joint venture between the makers of GeeksPhone and Silent Circle. Blackphone provides Internet access through VPN. The phone runs a modified version of Android called SilentOS that comes with a bundle of security-minded tools. On 30 June 2014, the Blackphone began to ship pre-orders.
The GeeksPhone Blackphone is powered by 2GHz quad-core and it comes with 2GB of RAM. The phone packs 16GB of internal storage cannot be expanded.
